About the event
Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Groups are in Boulder, Denver, Fort Collins, and Pikes Peak Region! Let's keep Colorado on the leading edge of psychedelic medicine work by coming together in community to learn, share, and grow. Each Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Group starts with an informative topic relevant to research, practice, policy, or activism around psychedelic medicines, followed by open discussion and an opportunity to connect with like-minded others.
We are excited to be back in Boulder! We hope to meet monthly once again in Boulder, the third Wednesday of each month at 6pm. Join us 4/20 for a fresh Boulder kick-off since before covid locked us all down. And, since it is an auspicious day, we will be celebrating cannabis as a psychedelic tool!
We are thrilled to be joined by two special guests for this meetup: Jen Fiser and Michael Purvis. Both will share their experiences and stories with cannabis as a therapeutic tool, and as always, we'll have time for questions & answers and social time to mingle.
Jen Fiser will explore with us how cannabis works as a psychedelic in a body focused type of psycholytic therapy process. Jen supervised and trained therapists in a clinic that offered cannabis and ketamine assisted psychotherapy from 2018-2021, Innate Path. She now runs an experiential training for therapists and other people using psychedelics therapeutically. The training is somatic and psycho-spiritual in theory and addresses trauma, attachment and childhood programming.
Michael Purvis will share with us his story of Awakening the Healer Within, a story of how Cannabis enabled him to come off of psychiatric medications in 1996 from a severe diagnosis connected to serving in combat in the Persian Gulf War as a M1A1 Tank Crewmember. Michael received a reset in working with Cannabis when it returned to his life in 2018 when he sought out Ceremonies that used plant medicines to heal his heart. Prayer, Intention, Attention, and Gratitude are the main tools that have worked on his healing journey with Cannabis.
Professionals and interested community members alike are welcome to attend the meetup. The meetup is free, but a $10 suggested donation is very appreciated and all go toward supporting the non-profit mission of The Nowak Society. Please be sure to follow all community guidelines at meetup events, including no soliciting for illegal substances or services. Let's keep all of us safe, please!
If you have ideas for topics or presentations for these meetup groups or would like to be more involved, please contact us.
