About the event

Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Groups are in Boulder, Denver, and Fort Collins! Let's keep Colorado on the leading edge of psychedelic medicine work by coming together in community to learn, share, and grow. Each Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Group starts with an informative topic relevant to research, practice, policy, or activism around psychedelic medicines, followed by open discussion and an opportunity to connect with like-minded others.

For our February meetup, join The Nowak Society and Gabriel DeRita of Effective Connection for an engaging exploration of Authentic Relating, a set of connection practices to support you in your psychedelic journeys. These simple and powerful tools can help you go deeper in your own psychedelic exploration, and provide a foundational set of best practices for supporting others and holding space for psychedelic work. Come prepared to play, share and connect! This will not be a lecture. Participants will have a chance to apply these practices in some fun and engaging games. These simple exercises teach attunement and presence techniques, while creating connection and an atmosphere of play.

Gabriel DeRita is a goal whisperer and mushroom nerd who left his "fancy tech job" in 2017 to travel the world by bicycle, and in the process found his calling in coaching. He now is honored to work full time as a purpose alignment coach & leadership development facilitator. He helps individuals and teams align with what matters, and make effective connections with self and others. His coaching work is rooted in neuroscience-based CoActive Coaching, Authentic Relating, psychedelics, and mindfulness. He has been working with psychedelics personally for decades, and has a wealth of experience to draw upon when helping clients with psychedelic journeys and integration. He hosts public integration circles, and has trained with Zendo for psychedelic harm reduction at major festivals including Burning Man. He is a teacher with Fungi Academy in Guatemala, and runs several group retreats per year on psychedelics and personal development. He also supports individual 1:1 clients with psychedelic integration coaching. He's passionate about cycling, foraging wild mushrooms, and the transformative power of psychedelics to heal ourselves and our world.

Suggested donation of $10, payable at the door. Door fee goes toward paying for the rented venue and supporting the non-profit work of The Nowak Society. If you have ideas for topics or presentations for these meetup groups or would like to be more involved, please contact us!

Finally, if you have a brochure, flyer or business card you want to display, please bring them! We kindly request that anything advertised is legal and aboveboard, but otherwise we're happy to make space for you to share your offerings with the larger community.
