About the event
Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Groups are in Boulder and Denver! Let's keep Colorado on the leading edge of psychedelic medicine work by coming together in community to learn, share, and grow. Each Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Group starts with an informative topic relevant to research, practice, policy, or activism around psychedelic medicines, followed by open discussion and an opportunity to connect with like-minded others.
Our community is based on the values of open-source/open-access knowledge, authentic empowerment, right relationship with medicines and drugs, and showing up for the people and causes important to our lives.
The BOULDER group will meet on the last Sunday of each month, 5-6:30pm, including:
Feb 24th (ketamine assisted therapy)
March 31st (the future of MDMA)
April 28th (psychedelic guidework)
May 19th (plant medicines)
The topic for our May 19th group will be plant medicines. Plant medicines such as ayahuasca and psilocybin mushrooms have been used by traditional societies for millennia to treat illnesses of the body, mind, and spirit. How do these ancient healing practices differ from Western medical approaches, and what can the “master plants” teach us about living healthier, happier lives? For this discussion, we will be joined by Rafael Lopez, a practitioner of Traditional Amazonian Plant Medicine and ayahuasquero, who will share insights from his experiences apprenticing and working as a healer in Peru.
$5 to attend, payable at the door. Door fee goes toward paying for the venue rental. Additional funds go toward our non-profit programming, including our MDMA expanded access fund for Colorado veterans.
