About the event
Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Groups are now happening in Boulder and Denver! Let's keep Colorado on the leading edge of psychedelic medicine work by coming together in community to learn, share, and grow. Each Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Group starts with an informative topic relevant to research, practice, policy, or activism around psychedelic medicines, followed by open discussion and an opportunity to connect with like-minded others.
For our January 2020 gathering, we are excited to host the one, the only....Max Montrose, Co-founder and President of the Trichome Institute, on A futuristic talk on the spectrum of psychedelic cacti and their uses.
What to expect?
Max will bring around a dozen different psychoactive cacti types from jungles and deserts as he explains their unique characteristics, environment, horticulture, and tricks to grow them thousands of times faster with no chemicals. He will teach you about a range of psychoactive cacti that do not produce mescaline! Max will share his views on the different types of peyote and wachuma ceremonies practiced in different parts of the world. He will elaborate on his views of the pro's and con's of US NAC / Half Moon Ceremonies and provide some interesting ideas on how to go about the use of these medicines in an entirely different way. This will, of course, bring up the topic of cultural appropriation which we will have a peaceful and intellectual conversation about.
Max's bio:
Co-founder and President of the Trichome Institute, Max Montrose is known for his expertise and wildly different approach to cannabis with the foundation of Interpening as a technical author and educator. Max is now opening up about his technical and shamanic work with as many sacred plant types as he can learn about, experience, and tattoo on his body. He has experienced many traditional grandmother and grandfather ceremonies as well as pharmaceutical Ibogaine in a hospital setting. Apart from the well known and classic psychedelics, Max’s forte is with the lesser-known spectrum of psychoactive cacti types.
Join us in Denver at the Mercury Cafe (first floor). $5 suggested donation, and/or please purchase food or drink at the Mercury Cafe.
