About the event

Let's keep Colorado on the leading edge of psychedelic medicine work by coming together in community to learn, share, and grow. Each Psychedelic Professionals Meet starts with an informative topic relevant to research, practice, policy, or activism around psychedelic medicines, followed by open discussion and an opportunity to connect with like-minded others.

For our November gathering we are excited to welcome the wonderful Katie Markley, LPC, Boulder art therapist and trainee of the MAPS MDMA therapist program, speaking on "Art & Integration: A Why and How for Making Art your Ally for Altered States." Psychedelic exploration can have many intentions from playful curiosity to deep healing. However, what one finds inside pandora's box can be more than was intended and leave the voyager with a big experience to unpack. In this place art becomes our ally, able to hold the inspiring and devastating aspects of the places we uncover.

Katie is an Art Therapist and LPC working in private practice in Boulder CO. She is passionate about altered states medicine work as she has witnessed their capacity to facilitate deep healing. She has much experience blending psychotherapy with altered states as a Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapist, a member of the Native American Church, as well as training by MAPS in the MDMA-Assisted Psychotherapy protocol for Posttraumatic Stress Disorder.

We are meeting in-person on the second floor of the Mercury Cafe. The Mercury Cafe will have tables spaced apart for social distancing, so seating is limited. Please confirm your space by purchasing a $8 ticket for the event. We increased the ticket price because we are giving $3 of each ticket to Mercury Cafe to help them stay open during Covid! Please also plan to purchase food and drink from the Cafe. Masks are required for socializing and mingling when not seated at your table with food or drink.

We will livestream this talk on Facebook. Visit our Nowak Society Facebook page around 5:45/6pm on Sunday to view the Livestream, or watch the recorded video later on our website.

We look forward to seeing you there or on FB!
