About the event

Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Groups are happening!  Let's keep Colorado on the leading edge of psychedelic medicine work by coming together in community to learn, share, and grow. Each Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Group starts with an informative topic relevant to research, practice, policy, or activism around psychedelic medicines, followed by open discussion and an opportunity to connect with like-minded others.

For our May meetup in Denver, we are excited to welcome Dr. Jon Treem from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and Lead Physician, Anschutz Campus Palliative Care Clinic. As the medical director of the University of Colorado Palliative Care Clinic, Dr. Treem directs and organizes clinic operations and is responsible for the administration of outpatient clinical services to palliative care patients.   He has been in this role since 2017.  He completed his undergraduate degree at Yale University in 2004, medical school at Brown University in 2013, and his internal medicine residency and palliative care fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in 2017.   He works closely with University of Colorado clinicians to maintain and improve the quality of life of patients with serious illness and helps ensure that the medical system honors their values and goals. He is also the founder and director of the Colorado Entheogenic Advisory Coalition – tasked with providing unbiased, empiric, and non-partisan healthcare guidance to lawmakers and legislatures considering psychedelic legalization frameworks. When not at work, his chief hobbies are drinking coffee, toddler wrangling, contemplating existence, and drinking coffee again.  Usually in that order.

If you have ideas for topics or presentations for these meetup groups or would like to be more involved, please contact us! Please support the Mercury Cafe by purchasing food or drink during our event.

Finally, if you have a brochure, flyer or business card you want to display, please bring them! We kindly request that anything advertised is legal and aboveboard, but otherwise we're happy to make space for you to share your offerings with the larger community.
