About the event

Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Groups are happening now in the Pikes Peak Region!  Let's keep Colorado on the leading edge of psychedelic medicine work by coming together in community to learn, share, and grow. Each Psychedelic Professionals Meetup Group starts with an informative topic relevant to research, practice, policy, or activism around psychedelic medicines, followed by open discussion and an opportunity to connect with like-minded others.

For our September meetup in the Springs, we are excited to welcome Julian Bost to discuss Psychedelics and Pain!

Julian Bost (Mexican, he/him) is a part time independent medical researcher, a customer support associate for Psychedelics Today, a research consultant for REMAP Therapeutics, and a volunteer with the Nowak Society of the greater Denver area. His independent research is focused on the potential to treat chronic pain through the combination of psychedelics and modern pain science. Originally an economist, he has studied cognitive psychology, various chronic pain conditions, and human anatomy for over 7 years, and he has over 14 years of experience in resolving his own pain & injury as a lifelong athlete. A former chronic pain patient himself, he is dedicated to further investigation of successful self-treatment methods and pain prevention measures using psychedelics and novel physical rehabilitation protocols. He has interviewed several psychotherapists, physical therapists, and pain specialists, and believes at the heart of resolving pain is a comprehensive understanding of neuroscience, structural deformities, and depth psychology. He believes the treatment of pain requires a holistic approach, as pain involves a number of different factors across the body: physically, mentally, and spiritually. As a research consultant for REMAP Therapeutics, he has witnessed firsthand the latest clinical research and anecdotal evidence involving novel treatments of chronic pain using psychedelics, and he moderated REMAP's first two "Psychedelics and Pain" Symposiums featuring some of the top chronic pain researchers in the world. Julian is currently documenting his self-treatment intervention with the goal of seeking out peer reviewers and he is also preparing an anonymous psychedelics and chronic pain survey. He is a passionate clinical science advocate, a low back devotee, and he has personally been injured, and healed from injury over 50 times with no residual pain or disability.

Professionals and interested community members alike are welcome to attend the meetup. The meetup is free, but donations are very appreciated and all go toward supporting the non-profit mission of The Nowak Society. Please be sure to follow all community guidelines at meetup events, including no soliciting for illegal substances or services. Let's keep all of us safe, please!

If you have ideas for topics or presentations for these meetup groups or would like to be more involved, please contact us.
